CUBEX KITCHEN
In this beautiful Interbellum home, we had the pleasure of designing a Cubex-inspired kitchen—an airy extension of the living room featuring a warm oak library.
Drawing inspiration from the pioneering Cubex kitchen—conceived by Belgian architect Louis-Herman De Koninck, whose groundbreaking design introduced the first modern kitchen with the now-standard 60 cm modules—we revisited the original plans to balance open living with practical scullery functionality.
For this family of six, extra prep and storage were essential, so the design allows the kitchen to open for social gatherings or close off to conceal clutter. The durable Dekton worktop easily accommodates hot pots for buffet-style meals, with dinnerware close at hand.
A well-thought-out flow saves time, energy, and frustration, while the built-in library completes the cosy, homely atmosphere—proving that every moment spent in a space can be both purposeful and enjoyable.
